In 2016, yarn maven Babs Ausherman (“Miss Babs” to knitting aficionados around the world) found herself in a twist. Her digital developer had dropped off the face of the planet and wasn’t returning her calls or emails. She reached out to Shopify and asked for a referral, and her representative recommended our team at Tomorrows Designs.
During a face-to-face meeting with Babs and Veronica, we discussed the brand’s needs. Together, we mapped out a plan that would include a new customized website, new UI/UX implementations, new brand imaging and development of a suite of specialized apps. A few weeks later, we flew to Miss Babs’ worldwide HQ in Mountain City, Tennessee to assist with new brand photography and on-location product shots.
We soon began work on two custom apps that would give Miss Babs’ shoppers an enhanced digital experience. The Compare Colors app would allow each customer to select any skein of yarn and drag it next to any other skein to find complementary hues for purchase. And the Recommended Yarns app would help customers easily select and purchase the yarns needed to complete any project they saw highlighted on the website’s Project Gallery.
